The Artist
 Martin Perea was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the summer of 1959. As a child his most fulfilling achievements came from his artistic expression. Raised on love and minimal financial resources, his inherent creative talent remained largely uncultivated for many years. Preoccupied by artistic muse, he struggled to remain focused on academic responsibilities. Chided relentlessly for spending too much time drawing pictures, young Martin eventually accepted the admonition that art was recreation to be enjoyed only during leisure time. By his mid twenties, Martin had become disenchanted with career endeavors typically thought of as responsible. He enrolled in the photography program at the Colorado Institute of Art. In 1987, he graduated with a degree in Glamour and Fashion Photography. Martin Perea’s photography has been published in magazines, annual reports, travel guides, and promotional materials. During his professional practice as a photographer, Martin has engaged in a photographic study of the nude as a means of personal creative advancement. Through this endeavor he has developed an expert proficiency in lighting and composition as well as an intimate knowledge of the form and function of human anatomy. This expertise is masterfully applied in Martin Perea’s drawings and photographs which are now available to the discriminating collector.
